Hirohisa Kyogoku attended the 111th SRD Meeting(Ueda, 13 - 15 Sept., 2018) and the 56th Annual Meeting of The Biophysical Society of Japan (Okayama, 15-17 Sept., 2018) and gave oral presentations. He won the SRD Outstanding Presentation Award!!

Summer Internship Program
Summer internship program for undergraduate students was held from 20-24 August. Kitajima Lab welcomed 3 students. They had the opportunity to carry out experiments using live-imaging of mouse oocytes and presented their results to the other internship participants.

We found that the number and size of the NPB was scaled by the volume of NPB materials.

Spring Lab Excursion
We went strawberry picking and had a barbecue in the Kobe suburbs with our families and a former lab member. We also recently participated in the RIKEN Futsal competition, in which we won third place.

Our new paper has been published. We found a new molecular pathway for the maintenance of chromosome cohesion.
